The "F" List of dog foods

These brands score an "F," due to their ingredients (rancid or diseased animal by-products, sawdust and dirt swept off the rendering plant floor, moldy grains that cause allergies, and rancid grease rendered from restaurant kitchens and other dubious sources), artificial coloring that adds "eye appeal" to humans, flavor enhancers (i.e., lots of salt), potentially poisonous chemical preservatives, and cheap fillers (undigestible grains and fibers like peanut hulls):

Alpo
Ol'Roy
Gravy Train
Atta Boy
Western Family
Pedigree
Purina Dog Chow
Purina Hi-Pro
Beneful
Dura-Life
Kibbles 'n' Bits

This is a very incomplete list, but you get the idea. Anything that costs less than about $.75/lb. is going to be garbage. You might as well feed your dog small doses of poison every day. If you want to keep any weight on your dog during this slow-death experience, you'll have to feed them 5 times more of these brands than you would the "premium" brands. And you'll have 5 times more poop to pick up because they can't digest most of what's in these "F" foods. Now that's a deal, right?
